The Center at West Park returns to Guild Hall with a follow-up to last year’s sold-out celebrity benefit: a staged reading of the screenplay of the award-winning 1987 film Network!
In Network, a television network cynically exploits a former anchor’s ravings and revelations about mass media for its own profit, but finds that his message may be difficult to control. CWP originally presented Network in April 2024 in NYC with a cast that included Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Fisher Stevens, Julianna Marguiles, and Keegan-Michael Key, and now will bring the reading to East Hampton for the first time with a celebrity cast to be announced.
Proceeds from the event will support efforts to preserve the Landmark West Park Presbyterian Church on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and its seven unique community spaces under one roof as a hub of affordability, accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity for NYC and beyond.
