Introduction to Filmmaking Workshop

Final Screening held on July 20

For Ages 8-11

Filmmakers are invited to join film teachers and other special guests to create stories through the medium of digital video. The focus of the workshop is visual self-expression. Students will learn the entire process—from development and writing, to acting, blocking, production, cinematography, and editing. Experienced filmmakers will share their knowledge and craft each day.

Intermediate Filmmaking Workshop

For Ages 12-15

Filmmakers are invited to join film teachers and other special guests to create stories through the medium of digital video. The focus of the workshop is visual self-expression. Students will learn the entire process—from development and writing, to acting, blocking, production, cinematography, and editing. Experienced filmmakers will share their knowledge and craft each day. Intermediate students will have a deeper hands on experience in creating their films, especially in shooting and editing the final products.

January Girls Workshop: Tree of Life

January Girls returns for girls Ages 6-106 to find allyship through Art and Friendship. This FREE program welcomes all to the class where journaling, conversation and an art project is based each week on a different theme. This week’s class will be led by Josephine Smith.

Art Workshops by Golden Eagle Artist Supply

In conjunction with the Student Art Festival, Guild Hall is offering free art workshops organized by Golden Eagle Artist Supply. Those in K–5th grade will enjoy taking a unique art workshop inspired by the projects exhibited in the galleries.

A celebration of cultural diversity at Guild Hall! Join us for a fun, family-oriented afternoon of creative activities centered on the exchange of traditions, ideas, and stories to further advance inclusion, foster respect, and ignite interaction within our community. The day features collaborative workshops led by local visual and performing artists. This year, Golden Eagle Art Supply will offer two free art workshops inspired by our fall museum exhibitions. You can also enjoy the free empanada truck, bilingual gallery tour, family scavenger hunt, lobby project hosted by the Teen Arts Council, theater performances, and more!

1pm – 3:30pm: Lobby Community Art Project led by the Guild Hall Teen Arts Council
1pm – 3:30pm: Guild Hall Family Scavenger Hunt
1:30pm – 2:30pm: Performances in the theater by local groups including the East Hampton High School and Middle School Dance Teams, East Hampton High School bilingual student films, The Jaime Ruiz Salsa Dancers, and Our Fabulous Variety Show.
2pm – 3:30pm: Art Workshops in partnership with the Golden Eagle in the Green Room and Boots Lamb Education Center
2:45pm: Bilingual Gallery Talk with Esperanza Leon and Casey Dalene
