Composer Bruce Wolosoff’s Concerto for Cello & Orchestra, recorded by cellist Sara Sant’Ambrogio with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will be released on October 18, 2019.
More Music Inspired by Visual Art: Music of Bruce Wolosoff, an album of Bruce Wolosoff’s compositions inspired by visual art, was released in January 2019 by the Montage Music Society and appears on the current Grammy ballot in the category of Best Classical Compendium.
Wolosoff has written for numerous acclaimed ensembles including ETHEL, the Eroica Trio, Carpe Diem String Quartet and the 21st Century Consort.
A frequent composer for dance, Wolosoff collaborated this spring with Pilobolus at the NY Academy of Art, and is currently at work on a new ballet inspired by the work of John Keats with choreographer Ann Reinking, with whom he collaborated before on The White City (Best Dance of 2011, Chicago Sun-Times) and A Light in the Dark for Thodos Dance Chicago.
Bruce Wolosoff’s discography also includes Songs without Words (18 divertimenti for String Quartet), on Naxos American Classics, and several albums of piano music including Many Worlds; Darkling, I Listen; and an early recording of piano music by the Italian composer Ferruccio Busoni.
