  • Neil deGrasse Tyson

    Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist, author, and science communicator known for making complex cosmic concepts accessible and entertaining. As the Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History, he has dedicated his career to inspiring curiosity about the universe.

    Tyson has written multiple bestselling books, including Astrophysics for People in a Hurry and Cosmic Queries, and has hosted popular science programs like StarTalk and Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. His engaging blend of wit and wisdom has made him a leading voice in modern science communication, bridging the gap between academia and pop culture.

  • Charles Liu

    Charles Liu is a Professor of Astrophysics at the City University of New York's College of Staten Island and currently serves as chair of CSI's Department of Physics and Astronomy. He is also an associate with the Department of Astrophysics and Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and president of the Astronomical Society of New York.

    Charles Liu is an extragalactic observational astronomer. His research focuses on colliding galaxies, starburst galaxies, and the star formation history of the universe, and wanders into the realm of quasars and active galactic nuclei. A frequent and beloved guest on StarTalk, Charles received the 2001 American Institute of Physics Science Writing Award for his book One Universe: At Home in the Cosmos and in 2020 was named a Legacy Fellow of the American Astronomical Society.

  • Chuck Nice

    Chuck Nice is a respected veteran of stand-up comedy with a rich history in entertainment as a writer, actor, producer, and podcaster. He is the co-host of StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson and StarTalk Special Edition (with Neil and Gary O’Reilly). For years, Chuck has been busy making a name for himself across all media, including radio, television, film, and digital platforms. In 2017 Chuck gave a celebrated main stage TED Talk about the unintended (and humorous) consequences of technological advancement to human interaction.

    Chuck’s hosting credits include Brain Games: On the Road (National Geographic/Disney+) as well as How to Buy Like a Mega Millionaire, and Home Strange Home (both on HGTV). His film and television credits include The Week Of with Adam Sandler and Kevin Can Wait with Kevin James. No matter how busy he gets, Chuck still finds time to rock the stand-up stage most weekends in New York City.

  • Gary O’Reilly

    Gary O’Reilly is a writer, on-air commentator, presenter, and globally renowned sports broadcaster. Gary has been seen and heard internationally by billions of people around the world with numerous appearances on NBC, ESPN, FOX Sports, BBC, Star India, Sky Sports, and more. He’s been the co-host and writer for StarTalk Special Edition since its launch in 2017.

    Gary’s skill at communicating the real-time complexities of sports into a compelling narrative and communicating information and focused analysis to his audience in a thoughtful and entertaining style make him a perfect host for StarTalk Special Edition with his “teammates” Neil deGrasse Tyson and Chuck Nice. Prior to his illustrious sports broadcasting career, Gary played professional English soccer for 14 seasons, including championship stints with the Tottenham Spurs and Crystal Palace. He lives in New York City.
