Join Sonia De Los Santos for a joyful, high-energy family concert filled with music, storytelling, and audience participation.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico and now based in New York, Sonia creates vibrant, bilingual performances that get audiences singing, clapping, and dancing along. Blending Latin American rhythms with North American folk, her songs celebrate friendship, nature, and her experiences growing up in Mexico and making a home in the United States. Sung in both English and Spanish, her music invites children and adults alike to connect across cultures in a fun, welcoming environment.

A former member of the Grammy Award–winning group Dan Zanes and Friends, Sonia brings warmth, humor, and heart to every performance—creating an unforgettable shared experience for the whole family.

  • Sonia De Los Santos

Sonia De Los Santos was born with a smile on her face (that's what her mom says) in Monterrey, Mexico and has been singing in Spanish and English for audiences of all ages since 2007, when she joined the Grammy Award® winning group Dan Zanes and Friends.

As a solo artist, she has released three family music albums and one EP: Mi Viaje: De Nuevo León to the New York Island, ¡Alegría!Esperanza and A Month to Remember. It’s hard not to smile when she’s sharing some of her favorite things - migrating birds, friendship, chocolate, and anecdotes about growing up in Mexico and realizing her childhood dream of moving to New York. Her songs are inspired by various Latin American rhythms like huapango, cumbia, salsa and festejo, as well as the North American folk traditions from the United States.

Sonia has been nominated for a Latin Grammy® and hailed by Billboard as “one of the Latin Children’s music artists you should know” and "Best Latin Children's Music”, and has earned special recognition with her band, performing at renowned venues and festivals such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, The Getty Museum, The National Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and many more.

In 2024 Sonia debuted Música, a new live show that cheers women who make music and those who inspired Sonia (and her all-female bandmates) to become a musician—or “una música” en español. The show inspired a new studio album, Música, set for release in fall 2026.

Sonia's most recent work includes writing three illustrated bilingual children’s books based on her songs that will be published by Norton Young Readers, the children’s imprint of the legendary W.W. Norton.

The first book, La Golondrina, is available now.
