Overview

A workshop production of a new play. Cara Sullivan and her flaky brother, Pete, try to navigate the uncharted task of planning their father’s funeral. Along the way they are met by an unruly cast of characters: the ex-lover, the hot Tinder date, and the overly optimistic funeral director. The Daerie Queene explores the hilarity in grief and promises to keep the audience laughing to the bitter end.

  • Savannah Hankinson

    Savannah Hankinson is a Brooklyn based writer and actor. Her plays have been workshopped at Dixon Place and The Tank in New York City. As a one act play, The Daerie Queene competed in and won the Spring One Act Festival at The Manhattan Repertory Theater in April 2018, competing with 24 other plays. Prior to receiving her MA, Savannah worked as Nancy Meyers’s (It’s Complicated, Something’s Gotta Give) assistant on The Intern.  She received her BA from Princeton University and her MA from Drama Centre London.

    Zoë Laiz is thrilled to be reprising the role of Julie in The Daerie Queene!   • Trevor Strader

    Trevor Strader is thrilled to be returning to The Daerie Queene. Fulfilling projects: A Man of No Importance, Gala Celebration at Transcendence Theatre Company, The Music ManThe Secret Garden, and many readings and workshops of new works. Broadway: TBD. Favorite role is currently “Obsessed Uncle” to Sydney, Charlie, and Lady Stanley (she has 4 legs). Lotte Lenya Competition (Finalist).   • Holly Linneman

    Holly Linneman is an actor and singer based in Brooklyn, NY. Recently seen as Rachel in The Tank’s run of The Daerie Queene, some of her other previous credits include Superhighway (Dixon Place), Drunk (Williamstown Theatre Festival), and Crimes of the Heart (Princeton Summer Theater). As a voice actor, Holly has recorded multiple audiobooks for Penguin Random House and Audible. 

  • Omar Ezat

    Omar Ezat is a NYC based actor that received his MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. Since graduating he has enjoyed working on network television in Blue Bloods, on independent shorts and feature films such as Linea De Sangre and Off-Broadway at the Actors Studio. He dedicates his work to his Colombian mother and Egyptian father. 

  • Daniel Irving Rattner

    Daniel Irving Rattner is a playwright and director based in New York City. He is currently pursuing his MFA in Playwriting at Columbia University. Previously, he worked as the Director of Interviewee Relations for Anna Deavere Smith's The Pipeline Project, assisting Ms. Smith with research and production for her play Notes From the Field. Daniel also served as the Artistic Director of Princeton Summer Theater, on whose Board of Trustees he currently sits. Daniel graduated from Princeton University, with degrees in Classics and Theater.
