Introduction to Filmmaking
10am–1pm
Experienced filmmakers will share their knowledge and craft each day. Filmmakers ages 8-11 in this 5-day workshop will create stories through the medium of digital video. Students will learn the entire process of creating a film—from development and writing to acting, production, cinematography and editing. On Saturday at 5pm, students will share their work at a screening in the John Drew Theater with friends and family. Maximum 15 students.
$300/$280 members
Intermediate Hands-On Filmmaking
2–5pm
Filmmakers ages 12-15 in this 5-day workshop will write, shoot and edit a short film on digital video. Students, guided by filmmaking professionals, will work in small groups to help each other shoot the short films. Students will also spend the first day learning the craft of filmmaking in a classroom setting. On Saturday at 5pm, students will share their work at a screening in the John Drew Theater with friends and family. Maximum 10 students.
