JOIN US AT GUILD HALL WITH DAN WELDEN AND YOU CAN ENJOY AND PARTICIPATE IN THE CREATION OF AN ETCHING WITH THE SOLARPLATE TECHNIQUE. THIS ENTHUSIASTIC THREE HOUR INTENSIVE WILL BE FUN, EDUCATIONAL AND VERY PRODUCTIVE. ALL YOU NEED TO BRING IS YOUR CREATIVE SPIRIT, THE DESIRE TO BE OPEN FOR A NEW TECHNIQUE AND BE WILLING TO WORK ALONGSIDE 11 OTHER ARTISTS. Printmaking experience is not essential.

Dan Welden is a master printmaker, painter, teacher and author. He is the creator of Solarplate Etching, which IS A HIGH QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL PROCESS THAT utilizes UV light and ordinary tap water instead of traditional grounds, solvents and acids. EACH PARTICIPANT WILL BE ABLE TO create a 4X5″ image on A SOLARPLATE WHICH WILL be PROCESSED, inked and printed FOR YOU. A special bonus includes having YOUR ‘hand pulled’ etching on 300 gram fine European paper that will be exhibited at Guild Hall. ALL MATERIALS WILL BE SUPPLIED, SOLARPLATE, PAPER, PRINTING INK) WITH THE EXCEPTION OF YOUR OWN FAVORITE DRAWING TOOLS, PENS, BRUSHES, INDIA INK, OR PENCILS. Dan has been A PRINTMAKER/PAINTER for over 40 years. His work has been shown in over 70 international solo exhibitions in museums and galleries and over 500 group exhibitions in the U.S., Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand and Peru.
